I was leafing through Dylan's Chroncles as I had Crashing the Ether on, and the cover (of Bob that is) made me wonder: Tommy is that the b&w New York you were thinking of? I suspect that Bruce's Seeger Sessions were partially inspired by No Direction Home --that he felt sorry for poor Pete the axe-wielding madman--and since then I've learned from reputable sources that indeed Bruce was going to pay tribute instead to Dave Von Ronk but opted not to because Dave's discussion of House of the Rising Sun was petty--he shoulda acknowledged that the Animals kicked both Dave's and Bob's asses. I'm probably way off base here but it was fun to make that link with Crashing the Ether too. BTW Tommy, EXCELLENT album! Any chance of a visit to Australia? I've seen you at Cat's Cradle in Chapel Hill and Grape St Pub in Philly over the years but now seem to have moved away from your usual tour haunts ...

Actually not too far off. I saw an exhibit of Diane Arbus here in LA a year or so ago and that contributed to the idea as well.

Hey Tommy- I just wanted to say that Crashing The Ether is terrific. Lots of great songs that are as good as anything out there, past or present. Lives Become Lies is too beautiful and the instrumental work throughout is a blast to behold.... And as usual, amazing guitars. Congrats! Hoping to catch you and the band in DC.
